This past month the St. Mary Junior Boys Basketball team competed in the James L. Daly Invitational tournament at Cathedral. It was a great weekend for our squad, who defeated the powerhouse home-team Gaels in an exciting semifinal, but came up just short in the final, capturing the silver medal. Crusaders Isaiah Brady-Clark and Sam Madronich were selected to the Tournament All-Star Team. The Junior squad currently sits 5th in league play and is looking to make a run as they close out their season. They will compete in the annual SJB King's of the Hill tournament where they hope to improve on last year's silver medal performance.

The Senior Boys Basketball team also had a great showing last month, winning the Gold medal at the prestigious Chancellor Tournament hosted by St. Thomas More. The Crusaders defeated highly ranked Jean Vanier to capture the title. Point guard Will Oliver was named the Tournament MVP and shooting guard Brendan Morris was selected to the Tournament All-Star Team. The Senior Crusaders are currently in 5th spot in their league, with 3 of their 6 losses coming at a deficit of 5 points or less. The boys are ready to make a season closing run and hoping to host a first-round playoff. Their next tournament action will be at Bishop Reding where they'll look to defend their championship title from last year.
