The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board honours a commitment to high quality arts programs across the system.

In partnership with the Hamilton Music Collective, students in our Equal Opportunities schools are provided with an opportunity to learn to learn an instrument, for free.

The program, called An Instrument For Every Child (AIFEC), begins in grade 1, where students are introduced to an array of musical instruments through weekly presentations and guest performances. In grade 2 they can then choose their favourite instrument (piano, flute, trumpet, violin, guitar, ukulele, or drums) and receive music lessons from an AIFEC music instructor during nutritional breaks. Inspired students can continue with the program until grade 4.
